Communism, Values and Politics
May 3, 2006
Senate of the Czech Parliament
Prague, Czech Republic

The influence of communist ideology and values is not entirely a thing of the past in Central and Eastern Europe.  Communist parties in many countries are key members of coalitions; in some cases they are in power.  It is essential that members of center-right political parties and think-tanks thoroughly understand the nature and extent of the threat still posed by communist ideology.

Beginning with a review of recent history, the conference will then analyze the influence of communist thought on the development of a free economy, a healthy culture, and a sound foreign policy.
