Conference on the Future of Kosovo
January 14, 2008
House of Deputies of the Slovak Parliament
Bratislava, Slovakia

A conference focusing on the future of Kosovo took place in the Slovak capital on January 14.  While most participants dispalyed understanding for the official stand of the Serbian government, Civic Institute Analyst and Balkan Affairs Specialist, Matyáš Zrno opposed the prevailing image of Serbia as a bulwark of Christendom against Islam, underlining that the Kosovo conflict has been primarily motivated by politics and nationalism rather than religion.

On January 21, 2008, Matyáš Zrno published an article about current political and ecnomical problems of Slovenia in Euro magazine.   On the same day, the daily MF Dnes published his reaction to Ivan Štern´s article which criticized the Christian Democrats.

On January 22, Vojtěch Belling presented his views on family policy during the public hearing on gender equality, organized by the Senate of the Czech Republic.

In an article published by CEVRO Revue I/2008, Roman Joch presented an overview of foreign policy stands and priorities of current US presidential candidates.
